SUMMARY:
I’m sort of over LiveJournal. The social aspect of it has been eclipsed by MySpace and Facebook to the point where my Friends Page is 95% celebrity gossip. LiveJournal was once a place to ruminate on what I was doing and how I felt, but why throw down an entire post when the Facebook status updater can tell all my friends at once? My recent LJ posts have been mostly about music, entries I write mostly in haste, or, I should say, in the heat of love for a new song, but nobody ever comments on them and they’re not terribly important, etc etc. I’d rather have a blog like this one that is designed for outside readers, one where I’m free to indulge in my bizarre pop culture obsessions and hope to have an actual audience.
I’m not sure this will work, I have a tendency to dive headfirst into new projects only to abandon them out of boredom- or hopelessness. I hope that doesn’t happen here. I hope that this gets read and I keep it up and it’s all interesting and whatnot. But, we’ll see. Whatever happens, I’m looking forward to it.
